The Nori Project

James in the kitchen......
A recent school assignment for Marine Biology required the students use seaweed in a recipe. The reluctant students would then feast of the all the delicious offerings.
Avoiding the obvious sushi, James went for a recipe found on the Internet. Nori snack sticks.

He rolled out two sheets of prepared puff pastry.
Brushed each with an egg wash - which became the glue.

Sheets of Nori were sandwiched between the two sheets of puff pastry.
Then sliced and twisted. Put on a baking sheet at a high temperature and baked until golden.

The recipe is a keeper, they were that good!

Lovely stuff....for five nights!

An escape to Miami/Miami Beach

A little Art Deco, a little Latin, and a little old.
A lot of tropical, of modern, of water, of skyline, and a lot of money.

Lots of yum in Miami

A sampling of all the cultural gourmet treats:

A German watering hole and then Tuna Ceviche.

.

Some Tapas while sitting on lush furniture.

A little "French" cafe breakfast

A fresh summery snack one evening out on our balcony.
And the odd pastry shop

And macarons!! I found some...but sadly not in any shop...I only saw them on the floor in the hotel hallway - discarded from a room service order - what a disgrace! (believe me when I tell you I was tempted to pick them up and knock on that door and tell those people...shame on you!) The first thing I did was check that room service menu...but no macarons were to be found.
I made up for my lack of macarons with gelato instead. I tried the passion and the mango...YUM ...yes I had double my allowance.
