Fairhope is full of surprises

Landscaped for Fall

An old type writer by a front door?....  odd & quirky!

colourful art - the location of a geocache

shady gardens

A french Quarter

little courtyards

And stopping at "Panni Pete's" of Food Network fame, tucked away in the French Quarter...not macarons, but a plate of beignets, served hot with a squeeze of lemon, delicious!

What's with the weather!!!

This week we saw a little bit of spring. Down in Fairhope the spring flowers were busy showing off........

Then the south had a very rare winter snow storm. They closed the schools, the cities closed down, we waited, we waited all day and then it arrived...at our house it lasted ten minutes!! it's a good thing I rushed out to take the photo when I did otherwise I would have missed it while blinking.

The little shop in Fairhope that really has my name on it!

Everything pretty

pretty smells too

Shells, Santa and a swan

and pretty stepping stones with loose pebbles between.

About six miles south of Daphne there is the little town of Fairhope, it has tree lined streets, a bay front park with a pier, many small boutiques, cafes and art galleries. On a recent stroll along the shaded streets a lovely friend and I visited a favourite little shop and the shop owner allowed me to take a few photos.
