Two "P" Towns

Cooked up a fun meal last week,

did a bit of touring on the Cape
                                                             with sightseeing in ProvinceTown

and an evening of WaterFire in Providence.

                             interesting reflections

an outdoor ballroom to dance the Swing.
Cheryl waiting for sunset

                                                music and fires until midnight.
and returning to the car, a 9/11 memorial.

The Graduate

Am doing a fast forward here.

We had a day of celebration
                                                           a day of speeches
                                                         friends with big moments
some entertainment
                                                              and some artwork
                                                         individual recognition
                                                                     lining up
and shoes.....were a distraction - what, no dress code!!
                                                                           really??
                                                                      the walk

                                                        and the happy moment.

and liked the discarded caps....hopefully the memories of those days are not forgotten.

Is this the last of the snow?

All winter I have been waiting for snow.
A few storms have passed through, short and sweet storms which left behind a dusting of snow.
Last weekend it happened again, we had snow, it was early Saturday morning - just 2 hours worth, but thick and heavy, lovely!!  This is the kind of event that you would miss if you slept late that morning....thank goodness it happened during daylight!
it was sunny and clear the rest of the day....
it did happen.....though not big in comparison to what is normal.
the big one that happened while we were in Paris. I know.... I was in Paris, would I trade that for a snow storm.....NO.

last 3 photos taken by Cheryl

Now the days are warmer and we are seeing the signs of spring.
Our much anticipated New England winter was a non-event, but there is still time for a "late" snow, the bigger one that I have been waiting for.
Will Mother Nature surprise us with one last snow storm?
The real question is, will I miss it while I am down in New Zealand?? Will I hear tales of deep snow, of digging out, of roaring fires, and tales of beautiful quiet walks and gorgeous snowy landscapes???
I will be in New Zealand, would I trade that for snow....NO!

Our Snowy Greeting

After ten days in Europe, where we only had a dusting of snow, we arrived in Boston to this....

fortunately there was no digging required to get to our car

Leaving the airport we pass these mounds of salt, used on the roads - every city and little town has it stockpiled and ready.

by the time we arrive home it is dark and we get our first look at the driveway.

The next morning, it is not long before I am outside to capture the moment with my camera.

some work needs to be done,

oh...and I finally get to use the new snow shovel!

                                                      I enjoyed the exercise....really I did.

                                                          Pretty, and wishing for more.
