Kinston, a southern country town

On a recent stay in Kinston, North Carolina I got to learn a little history.

Toured a replica of the Confederate Ironclad Ram C.S.S. Neuse - the remains of the real thing are displayed up the road. http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMG97

Sampled the local famous pulled pork Bar B Que

and met the friendly crew

Had good timing to be there for the Bar B Que festival and was able to check out a few displays.
Observed a few locals

and got a little hairstyle lesson

and best of all, picked up a local saying: "Y'all have a blessed day"

The bench we needed to rest on!

A lot of fun trying on shoes at the wholesale market

A new hair colour at the Paul Mitchell Salon School....we know a student there almost ready to graduate. She coloured my hair.

Lovely Marietta Square showing off some colour too.

A real find - not .....Pavlova magic in an egg at the Australian Bakery

and the real thing, the mini pavolva. I picked up my supply of meat pies while there.

Finally my Eiffel Tower found at ZGallery one of my must go to stores....some very tacky glasses!!

No mellow yellow yolks for breakfast today......no....they were not mellow.
They were a deep bright orange....the real thing.

A gift of 12 farm fresh eggs (thanks Leslie)...what a treat.
Too special to use for a cake or a salad....reserved for a soft boil and toast for dunking.
