The Grand Prix Festival in Watkins Glen, 

A post for Dad

                                                             we walked the walk of fame

                                                          we saw the checkered flag

                                                          walked among the greats

                                                 The Mini - many many dozens of them.

We absorbed the ambiance of the recreated 1948-52 Watkins Glen street races.

A tribute to the original races using the original 6.6 mile route.

the roar was huge.

                                                     some Aussie accents were heard

                                                         there was plenty of merchandise

                                                       and a town proud of its history

                                   Sunday we go to the race track and watch the real races.
