I stop a road trip to look at views...Frank stops the trip to look at planes

This past weekend was the fourth of July holiday, we drove to visit old friends in the Fort Walton Beach area of Florida. It's a two hour drive so we stay the night with them. They live on a bayou with a boat and dock out the back door, it is rather nice! We joined their neighbours for a red white and blue party and then took the boat out for a cruise around the bay. We could see several large firework displays from the dock, so spent the rest of the warm evening sitting watching those. The next morning we went by boat to a local breakfast place. It was 38 degrees out there, the air was still and very humid, thankfully the open bay had a small breeze.

On our way home we stopped at the Air Force Armament Museum. I was given instructions as to which planes to photograph for the purpose of showing my dad. So Dad, the following photos are for your enjoyment :-)

I naturally needed help with the names of each plane so.....
I was told that dad would know what there all were, so I didn't need to drag Frank in here to name them for me, but I got him to do it anyway - just in case there is a reader out there who wants to know....

why I love Paris #1

The French Macaron - on show here in shop windows (there is a bit of glass glare) and displays. Little bites of heaven, most to be eaten on the day they are made.

Little delicate bites, a slightly crisp top, melty almond meringue on the inside, in an assortment of flavours, sandwiched together with flavoured creams or maybe like one I enjoyed, a soft creamy caramel.

I hand carried one of these bags as a little gift to Vibeke's mother in Denmark. They made it all the way to the lobby of our hotel there, but sadly they slipped to the floor just as we were meeting my friend. They were smashed, but not enough that I didn't feel that I couldn't give them. I wouldn't say no to a bag of smashed macarons, would you?

They came in all sizes too.

Oh.... I should have eaten a lot more!
